Happy Wembley Day!

As far as Oxford United anniversaries go, today's is one of the more significant; it was 24 years ago today that Oxford beat QPR 3-0 in the Milk Cup final at Wembley, on a bright sunny Sunday afternoon. Lovely. With another visit to Wembley zorbing into view on the horizon, United take on Wrexham this evening for their final league home game of the season. Rage Online is at the forefront of the campaign to have 20 April declared a public holiday in Oxfordshire!

Chris Wilder's injury problems appear to be easing as the season reaches its climax, with both Chris Hargreaves and Anthony Tonkin just about recovered from their knocks. Tonkin may sit out for another match, as his replacement Kevin Sandwith has been steady, if not spectacular. Hargreaves too may find it difficult to force his way back into a winning side, and with no recent weak links in midfield he will also probably have to settle for a place on the bench. There are rumours that Billy Turley may be given a swansong game in order to say farewell to the fans, which would be a nice gesture but not necessarily in keeping with Wilder's ethos. The only other possible change to the side that easily beat Mansfield Town 2-0 on Saturday could see Alfie Potter starting in place of the disappointing Matt Green. I guess we'll find out tonight.
