Oxford United midfielder Adam Chapman has penned a new two-year deal at the club, ending any transfer speculation. The new deal keeps Chapman at Grenoble Road until the summer of 2014.

Chapman was offered a new deal in May after the season had ended, alongside goalkeeper Wayne Brown – who also signed a new two-year deal – and Asa Hall who eventually departed for Division Three outfit Shrewsbury Town.

The former Sheffield United youth team captain has impressed since returning in September. Chapman made his competitive comeback as a substitute in United
