Goalless in the rain

For the match in Swansea three changes were made by United from the team which lost at home to Rochdale last Saturday. In goal new signing Ian McCaldon replaced Richard Knight and in midfield Sam Ricketts played instead of the unfit Paul Powell and Joey Beauchamp came into the side to replace Paul Tait. United used no substitutes as they battled to a 0-0 draw at the Vetch.

Andy Scott had a first half goal disallowed for offside. Scott Guyett booked and Andy Scott were both booked, both for the second game in succession, by referee L. Cable, who also took Sam Ricketts' name. The attendance was 5,501. A match report can be found here.

In the second division Andy Thomson scored QPR's equaliser from the penalty spot as they won 2-1 at Bury, whilst in division three Lee Nogan scored York's third in their 3-0 win at Torquay. Derek Lilley scored Dundee United's second goal as they beat Dunfermline 3-2.

McCaldon in for the season

Ian McCaldon has had his one month contract extended for the remainder of the season. He signed the short contract initially to be sure that he would be eligible for today's match at Swansea, but it was always the intention that he would be at the club for the whole season.
