Oxford United today played Watford in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Watford's training ground. United won 1-0 with Jamie Cook scoring the only goal just after half-time.

The game was organised in order to give United's squad players a competitive work out, and the side included Rhys Day in his first game since he injured his knee against Stevenage Borough on 22 August. Also playing were Kevin Sandwith and Billy Turley, while pretty much everyone else in the squad also featured.

Meanwhile, some Oxford supporters are walking from Kidlington to Minchery Farm to raise funds for the 12th Man Fund before the game against Altrincham on 31 October. They hope to raise around
