United will probably field an unchanged team from the one that demolished Halifax, although Ian Atkins has hinted that he might replace Ian McCaldon with Richard Knight, to ensure that there is competition for the goalkeeping shirt. He has also said that he might tinker a bit with the line-up, but he is unlikely to change the attacking focus of the side. The game could be Matthew Bound's last for Oxford if his loan deal isn't made permanent, as one of the stipulations of the deal is that he cannot play against Swansea when they visit Oxford next Saturday.
Shrewsbury, of course, have Nigel Jemson in their line-up which virtually guarantees them a goal start when playing Oxford, but thankfully their leading scorer Luke Rodgers won't be available to play. The Oxford lads should still be buoyed up by their 6-1 win over Halifax and thus, taking optimism to the extreme, Rage Online predicts that United will come away from the game with a point, following a 1-1 draw.
Oxford's game at Rushden & Diamonds has allegedly been rearranged for Tuesday 5th February. All tickets for the original New Year's Day fixture remain valid for this rearranged date.
