Raging Fever returned to winning ways in a wind assisted match in Welling. With both teams turning up with threadbare squads and difficult conditions the game was always likely to be closely contested, despite previous high scoring results (losing 8-0 the previous season, while winning 4-0 in competition).

Fever began the game against both the wind and the slope which meant the defence was called into action frequently during the opening exchanges. From one early attack a dangerous punt was cleverly headed away by the towering figure of Paul Soper. Soon after good work from Nicky Pear stopped another menacing moment, with the make-shift centre back intercepting a striker who was going clean through.
