With our lack of ability to beat the parked bus system, we were often found wanting at home last season, winning only 10 of the 23 games played at the Kasstad. There were also times when our opponents were just better than us. With four games to go Southend came, took three points and made the play-offs. By then we were going nowhere.
But when the final whistle blew last Tuesday night, albeit only two games into the new season, we sat on top of the pile, with the Shrimpers at the bottom.
