Oxford United held their annual fans forum at the Kasstad tonight, with an impeccable, and impeccably optimistic, Powerpoint presentation. Ian Lenagan and Kelvin Thomas stole the show, although there were also cameo appearances from the supporting cast of Chris Wilder and Simon Lenagan.
After a brief introduction from Thomas, Ian Lenagan gave a financial overview of the club. Basically, since October 2008, when the Lenagan family and Thomas got actively involved in the club to rescue it from the mess into which Nick Merry had led it, turnover has increased and costs have gone down, making the current position the healthiest since Woodstock Partners Ltd. (WPL) took over, and probably long before. In brief, Oxford United made a profit last season, the club has no debt to banks, no outstanding PAYE or NI debt, and is paying no interest to its owners.
