Do us a favour

Wrexham used up one of their three games in hand this evening, and were held to a 3-3 draw at Boston. The draw moves the welsh team up to seventh into the play-off zone but doesn't really help Boston much, leaving them sixth from bottom, three points above 23rd placed Shrewsbury who have played three games fewer.

Reserves up-ended

Another Dexter Blackstock goal wasn't enough for United's reserves, who lost 3-1 at Southend after Blackstock had given the Us a 17th minute lead. Mark Beard then struck twice in three minutes for the home side to give them the advantage at the interval.

In the 63rd minute Michael Kightly made the game safe for Southend after he followed up a shot that Simon Cox had been unable to hold. The Shrimpers continued to dominate the game, but had to finish with ten men after Tom Jordan was sent off for kicking out at Dwight Ciampoli.

Josias Carbon twice went close for United, at the start and at the end of the game, but the inexperienced Oxford team was unable to get the better of their opponents.
