Den of secrets

From the Rage Online newsdesk Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003

Apparently Oxford United played a behind-closed-doors friendly at Millwall’s New Den this afternoon. We have no details of the Oxford line-up for the game, arranged to give players of both sides a chance to sharpen up their match fitness, but Millwall won 3-0 after being two up at half-time.

Presumably players such as Andy Scott and Dave Waterman would have received much-needed match practice. We would assume that other fringe players such Dean Whitehead, Manny Omoyinmi and ROS Chris Hackett would have had a decent run out too.

We trust that Millwall enjoyed their chance of revenge for their first round League Cup exit, but we’re fairly sure that United won’t be too bothered by the way things turned out. We wonder if there’s a behind-closed-doors friendly against Reading lined up for the winners?
