Curse of the ex-U's

Former United player Nicky Banger came off the bench for Plymouth to snatch an equaliser jusst six minutes after Paul Moody had put United ahead from the penalty spot, in the 74th minute, after Romain Larrieu fouled Manny Omoyinmi. The 1-1 draw was probably a fair result as Plymouth had the majority of possession but United looked more threatening.

Mark Wright made one change from the previous two line-ups, bringing in fit again Paul Tait in place of captain Martin Thomas, Phil Bolland taking over the captain's armband. Thomas replaced Tait in the 63rd minute. Referee Paul Alcock booked both United's front men, Omoyinmi and Moody; the attendance was 6,017 and a match report appears here.

United remain in 13th place in the division, but Plymouth drop one place to 5th. Luton have gone top again following yesterday's 5-2 win over Darlington, whilst Exeter's 3-2 win at York has lifted them off the bottom, above Hartlepool who lost 2-1 at Rushden. United's next opponents, Lincoln City, lost 2-1 at Cheltenham to leave themselves 20th in the table. Mark Stein scored his eleventh goal of the season for Dagenham & Redbridge as they won 2-1 at Farnborough to stay top of the Conference. Chris Allen scored his first for Dover in their 2-1 win over Northwich Victoria, but Dover remain rooted to the foot of the table.
