Oxford United goalkeeper Max Crocombe has received his first senior call up for New Zealand.
The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Conference outfit Nuneaton Town, has been selected for the All Whites’ squad to face Korea Republic in Seoul on March 31.
Crocombe was delighted with the news: “It is an ambition I have had ever since I first played football and a very proud moment for me and my family.
“Playing for the under 20s at the World Cup was a fantastic experience and taught me so much.
“The senior squad will be a step up but I can’t wait to join up with the squad.”
Crocombe has made just two appearances under Us manager Michael Appleton this season, both coming in the Capital One Cup, prompting him to join Nuneaton until the end of the season following Jamie Ashdown’s arrival.
