Left-midfielder Lucas Cominelli has signed for Oxford until the end of the season. The 28 year-old Argentine has recently been playing with Malaysian club Pehang, and previously he was on Newcastle United’s books for a season, but failed to make their first team. Cominelli had a trial with Carlisle after his unsuccessful Toon spell, and more recently has also had trials with Las Palmas, Brann Bergen, and Fortuna Dusseldorf.
United are also trying to sign French right-winger Amine Karam, currently at Besan?on RC whom the 21 year-old recently joined from FC Sochaux, where he played in the reserves for a few seasons. Karam scored the goal in United’s 1-1 behind-closed-doors draw with Wycombe on Tuesday.
While two players are on their way in, one is on his way out. Mark Rawle, recently informed by Ramon Diaz that he was free to leave, has joined Conference club Tamworth on loan for a month in order to get some match fitness and put himself in the shop window. Meanwhile United have also informed third-year scholars James Keeble, James Tweed and Richard Tweed that they will not be offered a continuation of the footballing component of their scholarship, while Angus Mackay has been informed that he will not be offered pro terms when he completes this, his third, year of his scholarship.
