Cobblers 1 Raging Fever 6
Report by George Dugdale
Fever continued their excellent form thanks to a dominant second half performance against their Northampton counterparts.
The opening exchanges did little to help any spectators forget the temperature on a chilly morning at the Racecourse pitches. Both sides struggled to maintain possession for any significant period of time and the substitutes were kept warm by retrieving the ball from the bottom of an adjacent slope with frustrating frequency.
Following several goalmouth scrambles in which Fever were frustrated by a goalkeeper in fine form, John Matthews came close to breaking the deadlock as he got ahead of his marker at the near post, only to volley over the bar. George Dugdale also fired over from an angle as a first half goal proved elusive.
However, Fever were not to be frustrated for long as they began the second half with a more ruthless approach. James Simpson
