Oxford United midfielder Adam Chapman is to be released from prison on Friday 2 September and will rejoin the Yellows' squad from next week. The 21-year-old former Sheffield United reserve captain played his last game in yellow and blue in the Conference playoff final against York City. The midfield maestro was voted man of the match in that match at Wembley, which saw him in a highly emotional state.

Although the jail sentence was a lengthy period of time, Oxford's chairman Kelvin Thomas decided to retain his registration to the club thus ensuring the once touted player would return to play for United.

The Under-21 Northern Ireland midfielder signed a one-month loan deal at Grenoble Road in January 2009 and extended his loan spell till the end of that season.
