June 4, 2019Fan’s View – 18/19 – no.54 – Luton away
May 6, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyLUTON AWAY Luton Town are a football club that I think it is fair to say are generally not liked. In fact I would go as far as saying hated, and I don’t use that word lightly, after all football is a sport and life is too short but there’s no denying there’s a history [ more ]
Fan’s View – 18/19 – no.53 – Doncaster at home
April 28, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyDONCASTER AT HOME Pre-match We’ve not been involved in a single league game this season that has been irrelevant regarding the outcome of automatic promotion/the fight for a play-off slot or battle against the dreaded drop. Quite amazing really with this being our penultimate fixture. The top five will remain the top five with any [ more ]
Fan’s View – 18/19 – no.52 – Shrewsbury away
April 23, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleySHREWSBURY TOWN 2 OXFORD UNITED 3 Sitting pretty on 56 points before this fixture, it was really easy as an Oxford fan to state that 50 points, which was the total our hosts had acquired, is bound to be enough to ensure survival. Naturally Shrews fans had a rather different idea. Bradford have gone but [ more ]

April 20, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyOXFORD UNITED 2 CHARLTON ATHLETIC 1 There have been many dark periods this season. We lost the first four league games. In both September/October and December/January we had a spell where we acquired just two points from six games. The latter was ended by beating Pompey at the Kassam but we couldn’t follow that up [ more ]

April 14, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyWIMBLEDON AT HOME Pre-match thinking In the last ten years the team going down from League One occupying 21st place in the table, the last of the relegation slots, has never got more than 50 points. In 2011/12 just 44 points were required to survive. Only rock bottom Bradford cannot now overtake us but as [ more ]
Fan’s View – 18/19 – no. 49 – Walsall away
April 7, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyWALSALL 1 OXFORD UNITED 3 Walsall away is a fixture that is so very easy to attend by train. Bicester North to Moor Street only takes about an hour then New Street to just outside the ground a further 20-30 mins. The short walk between the two Birmingham stations obviously takes a very long time [ more ]
Fan’s View – 18/19 – no.48 – Wycombe at home
March 31, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyWYCOMBE AT HOME The build up This season our home form has been way better than that on our travels with, prior to our visit to the Ricoh last Saturday, just over two thirds of our total points being gained at the Kassam. Coventry were an in form team one place below a play-off slot. [ more ]
Fan’s View – 18/19 – no.47 – Coventry away
March 24, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyCOVENTRY AWAY Bradford aftermath / Sky Blue anticipation I knew there were reality checks to be had after the euphoria and subsequent scarcely believable drama that followed the Mackie moment. I however chose to ride the warm glow well into the week before giving this serious contemplation. A few others took a different stance. So [ more ]
Fan’s View – 18/19 – no.46 – Bradford at home
March 18, 2019 - Added by Paul BeasleyANOTHER CHAPTER IN THE HISTORY OF OUR FOOTBALL CLUB AND YOU COULDN’T MAKE THIS ONE UP OXFORD UNITED 1 BRADFORD CITY 0 I’ve been watching OUFC for many many decades now and thought it very unlikely to witness anything really new. That proved to be very wrong. In all that time a game comes along [ more ]
