In an astonishing move Graham Rix has been removed from the manager position at Oxford United. This, given Rix’s record in charge of team affairs, isn’t in itself too great a surprise. Despite going a goal ahead through Lee Bradbury in the 20th minute, Oxford were eventually knocked out of this season’s FA Cup. Oxford chairman Firoz Kassam was interviewed by Radio Oxford following this afternoon’s FA Cup defeat at Rochdale. Kassam expressed his disappointment and frustration with the way things have been going, and reiterated his statement that there was money available for new players, but it was up to the manager to use it. It’s FA Cup time on Saturday, giving the lads and supporters a welcome respite from their troubled league season.
