Oxford United manager Darren Patterson faces his former Northern Ireland team mate Jimmy Quinn for the first time in his young managerial career tonight, as Oxford host Cambridge United. Belfast-born Patterson gained 17 international caps as a player and will be hoping to earn bragging rights against his friend. United are on a three-match unbeaten run after having to settle for a 0-0 draw against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, but will find it tough against a confident Cambridge side. On 16 August, in the first away game of the season, the Us lost 2-1, with Gary Twigg scoring the opener only for Leo Fortune-West and Lee Boylan to peg United back in a live television fixture. Patterson will be looking for his Oxford side to be more of a threat up front, and he may decide to break up the pairing of Justin Richards and Craig McAllister in favour of bringing in the nippy Matt Green. Another decision for Patto will be whether to give right winger Ryan Semple a longer time to get into the game, after he came on as a late substitute at the New Lawn. However, it is unlikely that Patto will make any other changes to the side, which means places on the bench again for Yemi Odubade, Eddie Hutchinson, and Matt Day.

Cambridge have been in sensational form this season, and find themselves sitting pretty in third place. They are, however, 13 points off league leaders Aldershot, who beat second-placed Torquay United 2-1 last night, and may have to settle for the play offs. They are on a five-match unbeaten run, and will more than likely be expecting three points against this embryonic Oxford side. You can fill your pockets with former players in this match as Wayne Hatswell, Courtney Pitt, Rob Wolleasten, and captain Danny Brown all line-up for Cambridge. The key man for the match is influential defender Michael Morrison, who came through the Cambridge youth set up and who has been attracting the interest of Southend United. Lee Boylan has struggled for goals recently, but bagged a brace in Cambridge
