It's true, Steve Anthrobus scored a second half goal for United in their LDV Vans Trophy first round southern section clash at Griffin Park to shock the 1,517 crowd. They were somewhat less shocked by the four goals in reply that Brentford scored to knock the U's out of the competition. Jay Lovett opened the scoring in the 8th minute and Scott Partridge added two more before half-time. Anthrobus got United's consolation nine minutes into the second half and Scott Marshall finished the scoring three minutes from time. David Kemp made a number of changes from Saturday's line-up, replacing Richard Knight with Jimmy Glass in goal, giving Wayne Hatswell a debut in place of Andy Linighan, bringing Sam Ricketts on as right back and pushing John Robertson into midfield in place of Peter Fear and Manny Omoyinmi replaced the injured Derek Lilley up front. As Brentford's third went in a double substitution saw the Bus come on for Manny and Chris Hackett replace Ricketts. There were bookings for Matt Murphy, Anthrobus and Keith Brown. In true Rage Online tradition (starting from now) there will be no match report for this somewhat pointless exercise.
