Brum fun

United contested a hastily arranged friendly this afternoon against Birmingham City at St Andrews. The game was played behind closed doors and was mainly an exercise in giving players match fitness prior to the start of the season this Saturday. Unconfirmed reports suggest that United lost 3-1, the Us goal coming from triallist Paul Emblen. Andy Scott, Bobby Ford and new signing Steve Basham all played, apparently, although Lee Steele was again rested.
