Bowled a yorkie
York City today went into voluntary administration and have been given just five weeks, until January 18th, to find a buyer. If no-one comes forward then the club will cease to exist. The club is losing £20,000 a week and the players are being paid by the PFA, with the non-playing staff only receiving 50% of their salaries. Obviously everyone connected with the game hopes that chairman John Batchelor or the York Supporters Trust can find someone to take over the club, especially as United supporters should be able to empathise with York's problems.
