United travel to Dean Court having a change from last week's winning side enforced on them by Jon Richardson's suspension. United's captain received his fifth booking during the defeat at Brentford and opens the way for a possible return to the side of Ian McGuckin. McGuckin played all 90 minutes of the reserves win at Millwall earlier in the week and felt no ill-effects. Another option is Lee Jarman, but Andy Linighan isn't named in the squad travelling to the south coast so he won't take up the place alongside Garry Monk. There are unlikely to be any other changes – Paul Powell is still a couple of weeks away from fitness and so Wayne Hatswell is likely to continue at left back, although Simon King may make his debut.
Bournemouth will probably be without Claus Jorgensen, who has a throat infection, but may possibly include West Ham striker Jermaine Defoe who will be looking to set a post-war record of scoring in ten successive games in one season, or something. Who cares, so long as United win? Rage Online confidently predicts a 2-1 defeat, as usual.
Meanwhile it has been revealed that the defender United are trying to sign is an international playing in this country. Joe Kinnear was spotted at the QPR v Luton cup game in midweek leading to speculation that the transfer target is Northern Ireland left back Keith Rowland, who was linked with a move to the Manor last month.
