Boston wine and cheese party

United visit Boston for the first time in the football league this Saturday hoping to capitalise on the Worthington Cup victory at Bristol City on Tuesday. Boston, meanwhile, went down 5-1 at home to Cardiff yesterday. Football being the perverse game that it is, don't expect those results to mean a thing come the weekend.

United will still be without Steve Basham and Lee Steele, who are both injured, and Dave Waterman who serves the second of his three match ban. There is also a doubt over Matt Robinson who had to come off with a hamstring problem at Ashton Gate. If Robinson doesn't play then expect Paul Powell to start in his place. Also expect United to play with three centre backs again, following the success of that formation on Tuesday.

Boston, of course, have a few Oxford connections, including the Weatherstone brothers, of whom Simon has allegedly been attracting the attentions of Grimsby, Archie Angel and the fabulous formerly ROS Jamie Cook. This means that United will probably have to score more than once to cancel out the inevitable goals that these ex Us will accrue. Basking in the euphoria of the win over Bristol the Rage Online prediction for this particular fixture is a 2-2 draw. Don't forget, betters, that we're always wrong.
