Back to work on Monday?

Firoz Kassam has stated that, should the planning committee approve detailed plans for the proposed leisure complex at Minchery Farm when it meets this Wednesday, he will give the go-ahead for Barr Construction to begin building work this Monday, 11th September. The most likely scenario from the committee is a “minded to approve” recommendation which will then have to be put on hold for 48 hours in case any objections are received. Also being considered in the same session are plans for a large health complex and gymnasium for the neighbouring Sandford Science Park, which could have implications for Kassam's plans for the fourth side of the ground, should it ever get built (it could cost an additional £3,000,000 when it is eventually constructed).

Powell's out

Paul Powell received the bad news that no United fan wanted to hear today when a specialist revealed that the damage to his knee was as serious as first feared. Powell will need an operation to repair the posterior cruciate ligaments and could be out of action for as long as eight months. Whilst this should lead to an end of the speculation that he is about to be sold it will severely dent United's chances of climbing up the league, as well as cause possibly irreperable damage to his own career. Rage Online wishes Powelly a speedy recovery!

He's a Rebel but he'll never ever be any good

Former United winger Jamie Lambert has joined up with that other former United winger Chris Allen at Slough Town. Lambert had been playing for Barry Town until recently.
