Andrews extends

United's on-loan midfielder Keith Andrews has had his loan period extended by a further month. Wolves manager Colin Lee claims that he feels another month at Oxford would be good for Andrews' development; well, it will certainly get him used to playing in a losing team, which will come in handy should Wolves be promoted to the Premiership next season.

Learning lessons

Not United's defence, but possibly future generations of schoolchildren who will benefit from Oxford signing up to a nationwide scheme to provide supplementary education for 11-13 year olds, especially literacy, numeracy and IT skills using football as a basis for learning. The scheme, in conjunction with the County Council, is to be based at the new stadium with a manager being appointed in the New Year, and will be for children from Blackbird Leys, Littlemore, Rose Hill and Barton. It is being supported by Research Machines, who are going to provide 15 computers for the scheme.
