Aldo's a Diamond geezer

Blackpool's Martin Aldridge has joined Rushden & Diamonds on a three month loan deal. R&D manager Brian Talbot has this to say about the former United striker: “Aldridge is a proven goalscorer at Third Division, Second Division and First Division. He has had problems through his career in terms of the free transfers that he has had (free from Northampton, Oxford and Blackpool where he has scored goals). You wonder why! I have seen him in training and in a reserve game and the boy can score a goal.” He certainly can, as United supporters who witnessed his scissors kick from the edge of the area against Walsall in February 1996 can testify.
