Humphreys signs new Oxford deal

Young winger Sam Humphreys has signed a new one-year contract with Oxford United.

The 19-year-old’s new deal also gives the Us the option of extending his contract for an additional year.

The midfielder, from Chipping Norton, made his Oxford debut during the final game of the 2014-15 season at Newport County, replacing fellow youth graduate Sam Long at Rodney Parade during United’s 1-0 win.

After committing his future to the Yellows, Sam said: “I’m an Oxford boy and I’ve been with the club since I was young, so it feels really good to sign a new contract here.

“I’ve been doing a lot of work in the off-season and hopefully I’ll be flying come pre-season.”

Humphreys’ new deal comes just 24 hours after defender Long penned a new two-year contract at the Kassam Stadium.
