Oxford United completed their second loan signing in as many days after drafting in Kemar Roofe from West Bromwich Albion.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has joined the Us on a one-month loan deal from the Division One outfit.
Roofe, who can play as an attacking midfielder, a winger or as a striker, has enjoyed previous loan spells within the Football League with Colchester United, Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town.
He becomes manager Michael Appleton’s 21st signing at the club since arriving in the summer having previously worked with Roofe at the Hawthorns.
“Kemar is someone who has been on a lot of club’s radar for a while because he likes to get on the ball and make things happen up front,” Appleton said.
“I worked with him during my time at West Brom and he has a great attitude as well as being a really good player.”
Roofe joins George Baldock and Jeremy Balmy waiting in line for their United debuts this weekend as the Yellows visit joint Division Four leaders Burton Albion tomorrow afternoon.
The West Brom loanee added: “All I want to do is play first-team football in front of fans, when the three points mean something.
“Oxford have seen me a few times and seem to like my playing style. I’m up for it, I just want to play football.
“It’s an important time for me in my career. I’m playing for my future.”
