Marsh out on loan

Oxford United striker Tyrone Marsh has completed a loan move to Conference outfit Welling United.

The 20 year-old has made just three starts and 12 substitute appearances for the Us since signing a professional contract after a successful scholarship at the club.

Marsh scored his first senior goal for the Yellows on January 8 2013 in United’s Johnstone Paint Trophy defeat to Southend United at the Kassam Stadium.

The young forward then enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Conference South side Staines Town in the latter stages of the 2012-13 season, scoring nine goals in 16 games for the Swans.

Marsh goes to Park View Road on a youth loan deal, and will remain with Welling until Christmas Eve – his 21st birthday.

He could make his Wings debut this Saturday when Welling welcome AFC Telford United in their league opener.

Oxford manager Michael Appleton said: “Ty is still young and this is the ideal opportunity for him to go and play regular football, score goals and show what he can do.”
