Oxford United will host Burton Albion at the Kassam Stadium on the opening day of the Division Four 2014-15 season.
The Us have been handed a home start to a league season for the first time since returning back to the Football League in August 2010.
Yesterday, United learned they will face Division Three outfit Bristol City in the opening round of the Capital One Cup, which is just three days after the Yellow’s encounter with the Brewers.
September sees Gary Waddock’s men visit Luton Town, who regained their Football League status last term after being crowned Conference champions.
The following month also sees Oxford travel to newly promoted Cambridge United and another visit to former manager Chris Wilder at Sixfields to play Northampton Town.
The 1 November will see United welcome Division Four rivals Wycombe Wanderers to the Kassam Stadium, shortly before playing their opening round fixture in the FA Cup (Opponents yet to be decided).
The Us have been handed a home fixture on Boxing Day, with United set to entertain Shrewsbury Town, although Waddock’s men will not play any league fixture on New Year’s Eve or Day.
Late February brings back fond memories of Oxford’s triumphant opening fixture away to Portsmouth last year, meanwhile there are six league games in March including home games against Plymouth Argyle, Morecambe, Carlisle United and Hartlepool United.
Oxford end the 2014-15 season with a trip to Wales to play Newport County on Saturday 2 May, in which many fans will be hoping the Yellows still have something to play for.
Boss Waddock was pleased to start next season’s proceedings infront of the home supporters: “Every club would want to start with a home game. Burton did very well last season and playing them first up will be an excellent gauge of where we are and what we can expect over the season.
“I am sure the fans will be right behind us, especially if it has been such a long time since we had the first game at home, and it should be a really good game.”
Moving away from this morning’s fixture release, Waddock was keen to calm the unrest around Oxford’s quiet transfer activity: “The lads are back in a couple of weeks for pre-season and I am still working very hard to add to the existing squad.
“There has been progress on that front but we want to make sure we get the right mix and the right characters within the squad.
“I am talking to players who I believe would add to what we already have here and I am willing to be patient and wait that little bit longer to get it right.”
