Oxford United striker Dave Kitson has been fined and warned about his future behaviour by the Football Association following comments made about referee Mark Brown.
The 33-year-old was fined £350 by the FA after admitting a charge of misconduct because of his post-match comments following United’s 1-0 home loss to Bristol Rovers on 2 November.
Kitson labelled official Brown “horrific” and “horrendous”, whilst also claiming the referee swore at fellow teammate Alfie Potter whilst he went down injured during the league game at the Kassam Stadium.
The former Reading frontman also called Brown “possibly the worst referee” he had come across during his 13-year career, but fortunately Kitson escaped any form of suspension from football’s governing body and is available to play in the Us FA Cup first-round replay away to Gateshead tomorrow night.
