Swansea further extended their season with a 2-1 win over Stevenage, meaning that their home game against Oxford on January 3rd will have to be postponed, while Yeovil only picked up one booking in their 5-1 win over Barnet, for whom Simon King also received a yellow card.

Other Third Division sides who find themselves in the draw for the third round are Cheltenham, who beat Orient 3-1, Northampton who beat Lee Jarman’s Weston-Super-Mare 4-1, Southend United, 3-0 victors over Lincoln City, and Kidderminster who won 3-0 at Woking. Macclesfield and Cambridge drew 1-1, while Scunthorpe were held 2-2 by Sheffield Wednesday after being 2-0 ahead.
