Potted shrimps

From the Rage Online newsdesk Thursday, September 4th, 2003

Southend are the next visitors to the KasStad as United look to extend their 100% home record. Southend have a 0% away record, and haven’t even been able to score on their travels, which is a worry.

Oxford will have Julian Alsop available for selection following his one-match suspension, and David Waterman and Andy Scott are also likely to be available. Alsop is almost certain to play, but the others will probably have to make do with a place on the bench, at best. This game is the last one of Jon Ashton’s loan spell from Leicester, and we understand that talks have begun with a view to signing him permanently. With the departure of Dexter Blackstock this is the least that United fans expect.

Southend feature former Kidderminster striker and Us’ target Drewe Broughton, but unfortunately Phil Whelan is no longer around. This is a game that United really should win, all things considered, so Rage Online is predicting a 1-1 draw, because we’re perverse like that.
