Ford popular, but gone

From the Rage Online newsdesk Monday, July 7th, 2003

Bobby Ford will almost certainly not be a United player next season. Having been offered a one year contract, which he failed to sign, the terms were allegedly reduced to a month by month deal which seems to have forced the popular midfielder out of the club. Rumours suggest that he is prepared to take up a proper job, in his home town of Bristol, and drop down to play semi-pro, which is indicative of the difficulties facing professionals nowadays (and also shows that clubs are hardly falling over themselves to offer our Bobby a new contract. Rage Online can reveal that at the club’s training session yesterday there was no sign of Ford, and his boots were missing from their usual spot in the changing room, although Steve Basham (also offered a month by month deal, apparently) and his boots were both in place.
