United utility player Sam Ricketts is on the verge of joining Telford United on a free transfer. Rickett’s has apparently agreed personal terms with the Conference club and looks likely to complete the move tomorrow.
Ricketts has been at United for twelve years, but has found first team opportunities extremely limited. The move to Telford, following on from his loan at Nuneaton last season, could be the opportunity he needs to get regular first team football.
Ricketts broke his collarbone while playing for United’s reserve side at the end of last season and it came as no surprise to see that his name had been circulated to other clubs. Rage Online wishes him well at Telford, who are proving to be one of the more ambitious clubs at their level and could be joining the Us in the league in the not too distant future.
