Some news on Us-related players:

Roy Hunter has played for Tamworth Town and has been offered a contract. Tamworth are also hopeful of signing Phil God Whitehead in the run-up to the opening of the Conference season.

Another Conference side, Telford, are apparently hopeful of signing Fitzroy Simpson, who has recently played a couple of friendlies for the Us. Telford have a small squad and are keen to expand it, while Simpson needs to find another club having been released by Walsall at the end of last season. With Ian Atkins only able to take on a couple (at most) new players before the start of the season it is unlikely that 33 year old Simpson will be offered a deal by Oxford.

Nigel Jemson, recently on trial at Lincoln City where he apparently impressed boss Keith Alexander, will not be signed by the Imps. It is thought that personal terms was the sticking point, although unconfirmed reports allege that the Sincil Bank catering franchise was upset when their pie stock disappeared.
