Jefferson Louis has been loaned out to Woking for one month, with an option to extend for two further months, after which there will be an option for a permanent move. Louis will join former United striker Nicky Banger at the Conference club as he attempts to get himself back on track.
Louis burst onto the scene last season after scoring the winning penalty at the Valley in the League Cup 2nd round. He then consolidated his place in United history by scoring the winning goal against swindon in the FA Cup 2nd round and became a folk hero by baring his arse on live TV after the Us were drawn against Arsenal, his favourite club, in the next round.
Unfortunately after this game things started going pear-shaped for Jeffers and he failed to capitalise on his early promise. This loan move gives him the chance to regain his early momentum and either resurrect his United career or, failing that, earn himself a contract at Woking where he won’t be in such a big pond. Hopefully his current legal problems can also be less of a hindrance to his development.
