Savage Pirate?

From the Rage Online newsdesk Friday, June 6th, 2003

One of United’s other out of contract players, Dave Savage, may not be following Scott’s example. Savage is at the centre of the row between Firoz Kassam and Jon Murray and is rumoured to be disaffected, despite winning the Supporters Player of the Season award last season. He has already been tenuously linked with a return to his previous club, Northampton Town, a move to Macclesfield, and more recently there is a story that Bristol Rovers are looking to sign him. It remains to be seen if he’s prepared to lower himself so far in his attempt to leave Oxford.

Elsewhere Rochdale midfielder and Player of the Season Dave Flitcroft has allegedly been offered a contract by Oxford United, but is waiting to see if Rochdale want to keep him before flipping a coin over whether to join Oxford, Southend or Macclesfield.

In another development former United striker Lee Nogan has been named as player-assistant-manager at financially troubled York City.
