Trial for the defence

Free agent defender Lee Jarman is currently on trial at the Manor as a possible replacement for AWOL Mark Watson. Jarman has captained the Wales Under-21 team and he played a few games last season on a non-contract basis for Exeter City where, as a right-back, he failed to impress either manager Noel Blake or the Exeter faithful who describe him as “lardy, slow, reluctant to get involved and usually had to be replaced at half time. Some of these players you think might have a footballer in them struggling to get out, but not Jarman. He left the impression that he was doing Exeter a favour by lending his ample girth to the City survival bid, but as soon as there was any criticism from the crowd, or a tackle from the opposition, or a decision didn’t go his way, he lost interest in the team and the whole game.” Although apparently he is wily enough to impress management on the training pitch. Doesn’t sound too promising really, but he will be given a chance to show what he can do against the fearsome strike forces of Havant & Waterlooville and Gosport Borough.

Meanwhile a Rage Online source, totally unreliable, claims that former Reading defender Linvoy Primus is also ready to make the move to the Manor. A totally spurious rumour which you should only believe if shown to be true!

Rogan? Gosh!

Former Oxford defender Anton Rogan has joined Banbury United in a futile bid to resurrect his long-finished career.

John Dreyer’s proposed move to Walsall has fallen through because Ray Graydon, Walsall`s manager, wasn`t happy with the way Dreyer ‘conducted himself’.
