Oxford United have signed Manchester United youngster Sean McGinty on a loan deal until January. The versatile defender, who can play both at left-back and left centre-half, came through the youth ranks of Charlton Athletic before moving to Manchester in 2009. The 18 year-old, who turns nineteen next month, joins the Yellows in search of more first-team action following injuries to Harry Worley (ankle), Michael Duberry (neck), Andy Whing (groin) and Liam Davis (groin).

McGinty had enjoyed a short loan spell at fellow Division Four outlet Morecambe at the end of last season, before returning to Old Trafford for medical attention after dislocating his shoulder.
