State of play

Oxford United have confirmed three fixtures ahead of the tour of the United States in July.

The pre-season campaign will once again include the journey to New Hampshire after the success of last season's tour. The tour provides the opportunity for United's new players to integrate with their new team-mates, whilst last year saw difficult fitness sessions in staggering temperatures.

The squad will play their first game on 24th July against Seacoast United Mariners across the state border in Maine, before facing Seacoast Phantoms in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The final game of the tour will be played against a Jim Dedeus XI which consists of the best players in the PDL. This fixture will take place in Portsmouth, once more.

Kelvin Thomas told the Official Website: “We are really looking forward to it and once again we thank our friends at Seacoast for their hospitality. It was very successful last season and this year will hopefully be even better. Going for another year has enabled both coaching staffs to make a few adjustments to improve the trip even further, but the lads will be working hard over there and it is a great chance to let them bond as a team.”
