Getting interesting

From the Rage Online newsdesk Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

In the big game at the top of the Conference today, Luton Town became the first team to win at Broadhall Way in 18 months, the second-placed Hatters beating the team at the top 1-0. This took Luton up to two points behind Stevenage Borough, although Stevenage have played one game fewer. Oxford remain in third place, eight points behind Borough and six adrift of Luton.

None of the other teams in the play-off places were in action, although AFC Wimbledon improved their prospects of joining them by winning 3-1 at Histon to bring them up to seven points behind York City. Kettering Town dropped to seventh after being held 0-0 at bottom side Grays Athletic, a result that sees Grays relegated to the Conference South for next season. Mansfield Town's fading challenge faded even more after they lost 1-0 at home to Wrexham.

In the big game at the bottom of the table, Eastbourne Borough beat Forest Green Rovers 1-0 to leapfrog above Rovers and out of the drop zone. Gateshead moved to fifth from bottom with a 2-0 win over Cambridge United, while Tamworth did their chances of survival a power of good by beating Barrow 3-0. In the meaningless mid-table game, Altrincham beat Kidderminster Harriers 3-2.
