There were two Conference games played this evening, and both produced results that were favourable to Oxford United. Third-placed York City visited Histon and were held to a 1-1 draw. This leaves the Minstermen three points behind Oxford having played two games more than United. In tonight's other game, fourth-placed Mansfield Town visited Wrexham and were beaten 2-1. The Stags are now nine points adrift of the Yellows, but they have played three more games than Oxford.
There were also three FA Trophy third round games taking place today. The only winners were Tamworth, who won 1-0 at Guiseley to earn a visit to either Cambridge United or Salisbury City. They drew 0-0 at the Abbey and will have to replay next Tuesday. Also drawing tonight were Barrow and Gateshead, whose game at Holker Street finished 1-1. The winners will host York City in the quarter-finals. In yesterday's third round game Kidderminster Harriers won 1-0 at Worcester City to earn themselves a nice little visit to the Kas, just two weeks after coming to Oxford for their Conference game this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Rage Online's newest sponsored player, Richard Groves, who earned this prestigious honour after Declan Benjamin's contract wasn't renewed, has been told that he is free to find another club. Along with Ian Sampson, Groves has failed to break into the first team squad, while Benjamin has now signed for Banbury United until the end of the season. [@player]groves, richard[/@player]
