Oxford United have been busy in the transfer market, strengthening the defence with two new loan signings. Both left back Steven Kinniburgh and central defender Ross Perry have joined from Glasgow Rangers after they impressed Chris Wilder during Oxford's pre-season friendly 2-0 defeat against the Gers' reserves. Both have joined initially until January.
Neither player has yet to feature for Rangers' first team, but Kinniburgh played a couple of games on loan at Queen of the South last season, and also spent some time at St Johnstone without making a first-team appearance. Perry is a Scotland under-21 international and has been selected for their European Qualifier in Austria next week. Both players have to be granted international clearance, as they are registered with the Scottish FA, and will be included in the squad for tomorrow's game at AFC Wimbledon if granted.
With two players coming in, there is also news of one outgoing. Shane Killock has been loaned to Conference North side AFC Telford for one month. This is not with a view to a permanent move as the accomplished left back and central defender still features in Chris Wilder's plans, but without a reserve team he needs to play competitive games to keep match fit. Chris Carruthers was also due to be loaned out, but apparently refused a move to Conference South side Newport County, where Danny Rose plays.[@player]killock, shane[/@player][@player]carruthers, chris[/@player]
