After last week's entertaining draw against Halifax at Cutteslowe Park, Raging Fever returned to their usual home of Horspath Road. The opposition this time was a Brentford fans team, who had taken a detour to Oxford before the Bees played at Wycombe on Sunday afternoon.

The start of the season seems to be following a pattern for Fever, as in all three games so far they have taken an early lead. Fever's solitary goal came in the fifth minute, when debutant Greg whipped in a delightful cross which had Fever players queueing to tap the ball home. Danny Pear was the eventual recipient of the cross as he won the race by a leg, poking the ball into the top left corner.

From this point Fever continued to press, with John Matthews and Pear both coming close from distance. Fever were also winning a lot of set pieces, from which they looked particularly threatening. From one of these Pear put in a perfect ball for James Simpson, whose header went agonisingly wide.

After offering so little all game, it was surprising that the next goal went the visitors' way. From a Bees clearance, the ball looped over the Fever defence and into the path of a striker, who was one-on-one with Danny Wells. The striker chipped the ball up and in off the bar.

Soon after the equaliser, good work on the wing from James Longshaw set up Rob Muskett, whose shot was saved well. Gary Butler (in an unfamiliar striking role) almost repeated the trick, but the outcome was the same. The rest of the half was end to end, but with little goalmouth incident.
