Morecambe more gone

From the Rage Online newsdesk Sunday, May 20th, 2007

The full complement for next season's Conference is now known, following today's play-off final. A Wembley crowd of 40,000 saw Lee Phillips put Exeter[@opponent]exeter city[/@opponent] ahead in the 8th minute, but the Grecians conceded an equaliser to Garry Thompson shortly before half time, after Paul Jones had saved a Wayne Curtis penalty. With eight minutes remaining, Danny Carlton scored the winner to send Morecambe[@opponent]morecambe[/@opponent] into the Football League for the first time in their history, and leave Exeter looking forward to another trip to Minchery Farm next season.

This means that Oxford's opponents next season are as follows: Aldershot Town, Boston United, Burton Albion, Cambridge United, Crawley Town, Droylsden, Ebbsfleet United, Exeter City, Farsley Celtic, Forest Green Rovers, Grays Athletic, Histon, Halifax Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Northwich Victoria, Rushden & Diamonds, Salisbury City, Stafford Rangers, Stevenage Borough, Torquay United, Weymouth, Woking, York City.

Boston United have been told that, despite their cheating ways, they will start next season on zero points, with their ten-point deduction for going into administration will apply to this season, despite them entering that state with only a few minutes remaining of their final game at Wrexham. Meanwhile, Northwich boss Steve Burr has left the club.
