SHOTTONOUT

Yes it's true! First item at today's Annual General Meeting was an announcement by Firoz Kassam to the effect that at a meeting earlier today Malcolm Shotton and Mark Harrison handed in their resignations. Whilst we are all absorbing this piece of news the first question that springs to mind is “Did they jump or were they pushed?” Whilst we can all have our opinions on this matter, and Rage Online had already heard rumours that Mr Kassam was gathering evidence to ensure that he could remove Shotts without having to pay him off, the truth will probably never be known except by those directly involved. Apparently there will be no successor announced immediately, meaning that Maurice Evans will probably take charge of team affairs for the time being. At least the quality of the dressing room tea should improve. All this on the day that the Oxford Mail launches a stinging attack on Firoz Kassam's tight wallet – nothing to do with their support for old-boy Jim Rosenthal and his Gang of 4 one assumes?
Meanwhile it has emerged that Bristol Rovers are apparently interested in a player swap deal for Jamie Cook. Hopefully this will be resisted.
Nick Banger is no longer an Oxford player. He has signed non-contract terms with Dundee and so will presumably be gracing their reserve team for a couple of weeks until they realise that they are not that desparate.
