Hunter’s in

Hunter's in

Oxford have signed former Northampton midfielder Roy Hunter in order to provide cover following a spate of injuries to first team players. Hunter had a couple of games for the reserves earlier in the season and did quite well, but it looked like his chance to join United had gone when he signed for Tamworth earlier this month. Now Ian Atkins has stepped in to bring the 28 year old to the KasStad and he'll go straight into the squad for tomorrow's game at Cambridge, probably starting on the bench.

Ricketts out

Meanwhile Sam Ricketts has left the club, joining Nuneaton Borough on a one month loan, ostensibly to get some experience and play a few games. There is speculation, however, that the out-of-favour utility player was involved in a training ground bust-up with Jefferson Louis yesterday and that this transfer is a direct result of that, which means it must have been set up pretty smartish. Whilst Ricketts may not be the most gifted player at the club he was just about the only player capable of providing cover at right back should Scott McNiven ever be injured or suspended.
