Two of United's midfielders, Peter Fear and Matt Murphy, have had transfer requests accepted by the club today. Fear, made club captain at the start of the season, has struggled to get into the team, and even onto the bench recently, and is widely rumoured to have lubrication problems. He is also one of the club's highest paid players, allegedly on £3,000 a week (not bad for knocking about in the stiffs) which means that the club will be happy just to get shot of him. Murphy, on the other hand, was United's top scorer last season with 17 goals, but is generally accepted to be fairly crap. He cost £20,000 from Corby seven years ago but has always struggled to get a regular place, even getting substituted when himself a substitute against Notts County in our last promotion season. Murphy is out of contract at the end of this season.
