Royals beheaded

Oxford played their first ever game at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, in front of the Sky cameras, and came away with all three points thanks to an excellent run and shot from Rob Folland in the first half and then a stunning strike from Matt Murphy after Jim McIntyre had equalised in the second half. United gave a debut to Ross Weatherstone; Neil McGowan started in place of Paul Powell and, significantly, P&#229l Lundin replaced Andre Arendse in goal. Les Robinson was pushed into midfield and Peter Fear was dropped. United's only substitution was to replace a somewhat over-passionate Jamie Lambert, who had already been booked, with Ben Abbey. Also booked for United were Phil Whelan and Derek Lilley. United move up two places, leapfrogging Reading, as a result of the result. The attendance was another numerological curiosity, this time being a digital 10,101. There's a strangely happy match report for further colour.
